Cities and Adaptation The Role of Civil Society

Event details

Environmental Justice and Social Equity

Padua: Living Heritage, Sustainable Future marks the opening event of Padova Climate Action Week (April 11–19, 2026) — a celebration of Padova’s spirit as a city that honors its past, acts in the present, and looks ahead with vision and responsibility.

Padova, with its centuries-old university, its vibrant civil society, and its growing network of innovators, stands as a symbol of how tradition and progress can coexist and reinforce one another. This inaugural event will open a week dedicated to sustainability, collaboration, and shared action, inviting institutions, businesses, researchers, and citizens to imagine the city’s next chapter together.

Through speeches, artistic performances, and stories of local transformation, Eredità Viva, Futuro Sostenibile will reflect on how heritage can be a living resource — not something to preserve in isolation, but a foundation to build upon. The event will emphasize that sustainability is not only an environmental goal but also a cultural and social one, rooted in the choices made every day by individuals and communities.

As the lights of the opening evening illuminate the city, Padova will reaffirm its role as a meeting point between knowledge and creativity, science and participation.

The message is clear: the future is not a distant horizon, but a shared project that begins here and now — in Padova, a city where heritage lives on and inspires sustainable transformation.
